Hello!!
Hey,
This week was another fantastic one here in Kowloon city! Pretty normal stuff going on, finding and teaching, but it was great! This week we met some super cool people and we taught a couple more lessons than last week, which was great!
This week we also had some interviews with the mission president which were pretty cool, we got some good advice and he asked a pretty thought provoking question, He asked "If you had a magic wand and could change anything about the mission what would it be?" I'm still trying to find a good answer but it was a good question. Sometimes it is really helpful to step back and evaluate what you are doing and find out where you can change. A lot of times we just bustle through life and forget to evaluate where we are at.
Also this week in Gospel principles class we were talking about the Lord's covenant people and we got talking about Abraham and his willingness to sacrifice. When I was thinking about it I came to realize how much faith Abraham actually had. The Lord had promised that through his son he would continue to have posterity but then the Lord asked him to sacrifice his son. When I thought about it I related it to having a jug of gasoline in the middle of a desert highway. You need the gasoline to go home and survive but then you are asked to give up the very thing that will get you home. Sometimes the Lord asks us to do hard things and at the time we may have some difficulty understanding how we are going to continue, but the Lord works in mysterious ways. The Lord always prepares a way for us to do any righteous thing he asks even if at times we cannot see how we can do it.
"But the Lord knoweth all things from the beginning; wherefore, he prepareth a way to accomplish all his works among the children of men; for behold, he hath all power unto the fulfilling of all his words" 1 Nephi 9:6.

P.S. the new church history "Saints" is so good!
Fun fact 1: The scripture he quoted above is the one he chose before leaving as a favorite/inspiring scripture and it's on his missionary plaque.
Fun fact 2: They've had a lot of rain but he said this last week it was just 'stupidly hot'! Thus, one of the pictures attached is the weather, temperature 90, feels like 108, bleh!
Fun fact 3: He must have found a place that sells inexpensive fruits and veggies. He was explaining how cheap plums and chili peppers were.
