They actually came!

Hey Everyone!

This week has been a fantastic week here in Hong Kong! If you can't tell by the subject line, we had a fantastic amount of people at church this week.

This week started off a little difficult, it rained pretty much every day so we had a ton of people cancel their lessons so we went and literately got our feet wet finding in the rain. But luckily this week we had 6 people come to church! That is the most I've had at once on my entire mission. It was a little trial of our faith because 5 of the 6 were late, but it was great!

Also, the finding in the rain went pretty well and my brand new 7/11 umbrella keeps me mostly dry! This week should also be great because school starts today and all of the students will be out in about, they can't hide from us any more!!!

Anyway, this week we have been doing a lot of study to prepare for mission tour and I came across a little morsel of knowledge. In many scriptures regarding missionary work the Lord tells his servants to open their mouths, and he promises to fill them. Every missionary has heard that a million times and I thought that I understood it, but, what I came to understand was that the Lord said that he would fill our mouths and through the spirit we will be able to carry the message of the gospel to people's hearts, but what he doesn't promise is that you will be eloquent or sound super cool. All the Lord asks is that we open our mouths and he will allow us to teach and testify with power and authority. We may not sound very eloquent or our language may be very simple and basic but the Lord will make up for our weakness and the spirit will help. The Lord truly does make weak things become strong! Anyway, hope that made sense. Have a great week!

Sincerely,
Elder Ashton

Fun fact 1: They had one investigator who had a date set for baptism but he had to go to the hospital for a foot infection-so that's delayed but otherwise they're busy teaching.

Fun fact 2: He says he and his companion have very different personalities, but that they get along just fine and seem to work together well.
