This week has been a fantastic one here in Kowloon, lots of good things going on these days. We've been seeing some good success finding here and things are swell!
This week we also had interviews with the President. This was the first time having an interview with President Phillips and it was pretty good, kind of different from the good old president Lam, but still good. He encouraged us to find more ways to serve the companions.
Also this week one interesting thing that came from my studies was about developing Christlike attributes. In April 2017 Elder Robert D. Hales gave a talk about becoming true disciples of Jesus Christ, at the beginning of his talk he mentions that a true disciple is someone who has been baptized and takes upon themselves the name of Jesus Christ. It is interesting is how he mentions that in order to be a true disciple we must be baptized. If we are not baptized we might only be a follower, but only through covenant are we bound to Christ and only then can we be true disciples. It is so amazing that we have had the covenants of the Lord restored to the earth so that we can experience the power of Godliness here on the Earth! One of the coolest parts of missionary work is that we can share those same covenants with people here!
Anyway, hope that makes sense... Have a fantastic week!
Sincerely,
Elder Ashton
Fun fact 1: The translation of the subject line is purely from Google Translate so let's all assume it's right as he didn't say what it meant. :)
Fun fact 2: It's been raining in Colorado this past week, so he shared that they sometimes get that kind of crazy rain there, and that sometimes hard enough that his umbrella leaks! Though it's not as cold a rain there!
Fun fact 3: He says he's learning a lot about leadership in his role as a zone leader. Sometimes figuring out how to help missionaries, sometimes learning how to get things done. He enjoys that and says most of the missionaries he's worked with are fantastic! (yay!)
