This last week we had some new investigators show up and we had zone conference. As always, zone conference was awesome, but this one was a little different because now, as a zone leader, I had to present a training to the three zones in attendance. It went pretty well; we had a good conversation about teaching skills.
One thing that I thought was pretty interesting from the conference came from President Phillips. We spent a significant amount of time discussing faith and how action is one of the biggest parts of our faith. One thing he mentioned was about how sometimes we need to act as if we already have faith, or act as if we already are a great teacher, and that as we do the Lord will make up the rest and that causes us to grow. As we strive for improvement and seek to do the will of the Lord, the Lord will form us into the instruments that he can use to change lives and allow people to gain eternal life.
Also, things are going great in the area. My companions and I are getting more used to working together in a tri-companionship and things are going more smoothly. Also, we found 2 new people to teach this week which was awesome. It's amazing to see how the Lord will prepare people to receive our message.
Anyway, I have people to help so I'll keep things short. Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Elder Ashton
Fun fact 1: He says it has been raining a lot lately and isn't as hot as last year-he thinks, or he might be more used to it.
Fun fact 2: He does think he will probably freeze to death when he returns to Denver in mid-January.
Fun fact 3: He will have been out on his mission for 18 months this Wednesday! 75% complete-6 months to go! Wow!
