This week has been a pretty good one here in Kowloon City. This week we had the 4th apostle in like 3 months come to Hong Kong. So that was cool. I don't know why so many are stopping by but I'll take it.
Anyway, the new area is pretty cool. I'm still figuring out where everything is but it seems good so far. We could go for a few more investigators but we'll find some more soon.
Anyway, Elder Gong's visit was pretty cool. He talked a fair amount about faith and how we've been called here for a specific reason; and loving the people you teach, and your companion. It was pretty neat. Then the day after we had zone conference and I had a pretty cool impression. One of the elders was taking about how we're called here for a reason but that it's frustrating that we may not know that reason. Then I realized that it is probably best that we don't know God's purpose in sending us here because he probably has many reasons, and if we get so focused on accomplishing that one thing we might miss out on other blessings that he has in store. So really, what matters is that you serve with all your heart might mind and strength and as you do that the purposes of the Lord will be brought to pass.
Also, it was pretty neat, we talked about how you can tell your devotion to the work by accepting the outcome no matter what happens. So if you work super hard and nothing works out you are okay with it because you know that you gave it your all.
Anyway, hope y'all have a great week! 加油! (Add oil!)
Sincerely,
Elder Ashton

Fun fact 1: He said his letters were kind of short because it took a while for him to figure out how to share photos from his new smartphone. And it has a great camera!
Fun fact 2: The temperature there has been a little toasty. Highs in the 90's but humidity makes it feel like 100-106ish. Bleh!
Fun fact 3: Some of his pictures he went to the Tsz Shan Monastery, which has a HUGE statue of Guan Yin (Goddess of Mercy).
