The calm before the storm...

Hey Y'all,

This week has been a fantastic one here in Sheung Shui. Lots of finding and teaching going on these days, not a ton of baptizing... yet... but we'll get there.

This week we had a few people stand us up but we determined that its just the calm before the storm because with enough faith it'll just get better.

This evening Elder Stevenson and Bishop Causse will be training us so really the only thing stopping us from success is our own doubts. Other than that not too much crazy has happened.

Recently I've been thinking about how my mission has been going, and I have come to realize how much my testimony has grown. Missionary work has been one of the best things I've ever done in my life regardless of how hard it is.

The other day I was reading a talk by president Eyring and he talked about how our trials help us build our faith. I've come to know that as we face trials and rely on the Lord our faith grows so much. Anyway, hope y'all have a good week! 加油!

Sincerely,
Elder Ashton

Fun fact 1: No pictures today alas! His birthday is next week though, so feel free to send him a card or email!

Fun fact 2: I asked him about the hike that he sent pictures from last week and he said it wasn't too hard but he did wonder if he would be able to climb at altitude once he got home.

Fun fact 3: He's been out almost 14 months, and he reports he needs to buy new shoes.

Fun fact 4: We here in Colorado just went into Daylight Saving Time but Hong Kong doesn't do that nonsense, so he is now 14 hours ahead of Denver.

You can email Elder Ashton at joel.ashton@myldsmail.net.

If you would like to send him regular mail:
