What's up everybody!
Well the calls came this this morning and I'll be staying in Malone as the senior companion. I'll be picking up my new companion, Elder Cowles, tomorrow in Syracuse then we'll head back. Guess Malone will be stuck with me for at least one more transfer. I'll have a picture of him hopefully in next week's email.
I was pretty glad to have our interviews with President Vest this week considering it was the last week. Always nice to see him and hear his encouraging words - even if you show up late. Not exactly what I was hoping for especially when he's interviewing me first. All good though we were busy talking to people and he didn't say anything about it.
Gave my first talk out on the mission which was pretty sweet. At first I thought it was just gonna be me and my companion speaking so this Elder may or may not have spoken for too long and gone over. They didn't seem to mind, from what I heard they enjoyed it so that's good.
Lately we haven't had a whole lot of lessons so it's been a lot of pounding on doors, just kidding we just knock on them. It's pretty funny some of the responses you'll get; "sorry I can't with my dog", "when they use a finger gesturing us away saying not today", or the typical " I'm Catholic". Got to love it though, I have fun with it everyday since you never know who will answer.
Spiritual thought
3 Nephi 12: 14-16 or Matt. 12:14-16
"I give unto you to be the light of this people. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.... Therefore let your light so shine before this people
I know this church is true and is led by prophets and apostles with Jesus Christ at the head. I know no matter what we go through we can always turn to him for relief and he'll provide it for us. I love this gospel and know you can greater joy by abiding by its precepts than anywhere else. Love you all!
