Hope all is well and dandy back home where that is for you. Crazy enough I'm here again writing another email.
This week was pretty great! I think our mission president had a little pitty for us or just didn't want us falling asleep in the meetings. We live over 3 hours away and we have to be there by 8:30 so 4 in the morning came pretty fast. Then we found out the meeting got moved ahead a hour so that was nice.
I think their trying to hint to me how bad the winter in gonna be since that was the subject of the assistants’ training lol. We also did a ton of role playing which helped me see where my teaching skills need to improve. One of the Elders we were practicing with got emotional when bearing testimony which helped show me just how powerful this message is to people.
It Is so amazing being able to see people's lives change for the better because of this gospel and the Savior. I was almost in tears earlier this week when Jackson (someone we're teaching) was telling us how much happier he's been since he's been cutting down on smoking and drinking. He expresses his love and gratitude for us each time we are there. My love for the people here grows more and more each day. There has never been anything else that has brought me greater joy than helping people change their lives for the better through the Savior.
Not sure if my companion is tired of it yet or not, but all I do in our apartment is sing to music lol. Earlier this week my companion was helping Jackson with an issue he had with his TV. While he was doing that I asked if I could played some music. As I started singing it I could hear him get emotional because of it. Afterwards he said that was beautiful and he wanted to know where he could find the music.
The song was
"Savior, Redeemer of my Soul". I love the second verse when it says,
Never can I repay thee, Lord,
But I can love thee. Thy pure word,
Hath it not been my one delight,
My joy by day, my dream by night?
Then let my lips proclaim it still,
And all my life reflect thy will.
Well Halloween night we were walk by for dinner when it hit me - all the people we are to teach are outside right now. Also I should probably do something about it. I had the idea to fill a bowl with Pass along cards and pamphlets for people. When we came back at the end of our night the bowl was nearly empty which was sweet.
One of my favorite scriptures I read this week was Hebrews 12: 1-2. It speaks of the Savior having joy in bearing the cross. It really showed me that I have nothing to be complaining about.
I love you all so much and don't know what I'd do without you guys.
