What's up guys!
This week was transfer week and we got a call on Tuesday saying I'd be staying here and my companion would be going to Syracuse to be an assistant to the President. I got my new companion on Wednesday, Elder Bennett, whose pretty sweet and has been on his mission for 16 months now. Definitely a lot different since the two companions that will have trained me have totally different personalities. I'll have a picture of us next time just never got around to taking one.
Elder Bennett has definitely helped me narrow my focus on the work and motivate me to further my growth. While we were talking to people downtown this guy offered us water from a corner store. At first we tried to say no, but then he said he was the owner and we could use it for walking out in the heat. Have to count all your blessings while out here, definitely appreciate all the people here.
It was pretty sweet a couple days ago it was late at night and we ended up running into two different groups of people who weren't interested but wanted to hear a scripture from us. Both times I shared one of my favorites, Helaman 5:12 that says when we have our foundation on christ then the things on the world will not effect us. After I shared this with the second group all the kids started clapping which was pretty cool haha.
One of my favorite scriptures that I've based a lot of my mission around so far is D&C 6:36 "look into me in every thought, doubt not fear not". This has really helped me when some doubt or fears may arise all I have to do is look to the Savior and they instantly flee. The more I've done this the great success and happiness I've had while I've been here.
Alright so Saturday we were having a pretty slow day of finding and a lot of our lessons didn't end up happening. The people we'd run into that would show some Interest had already been talked to by other missionaries recently. Me and my companion had decided to changed what we were doing and go to the other side of town where people may be more humble and we could teach some of them. Once we got there the first people we talked to wanted to hear our message and we got a return visit with them. Then the rest of them night went pretty great talking with everyone we saw. Definitely believe that when we have faith things will happen they will and when we lose have faith we won't get the results we are looking for.
I love this gospel so much and don't know where I'd be without it. I look forward each day to sharing my feelings about our message with everyone knowing how much it has helped me. I'm grately to know I can help offer people a place of lasting happiness in a world where temporary happiness is the popular thing.
Love you all and look forward to the many memories to come.
