Valdivia, Calle Calle

Elder Avilés!

Heyyy familia!!!

First off, I just wanted to say that this week was pretty grand and that I love you all a bunch!

This week was pretty good, lots and lots of rain. Also, this week when my companion was showering the other day the electric shower started sparking and stopped working. So, we had a few cold showers on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday morning jaja, but today we will get it fixed. (Mommentary: Cold showers don't seem all that bad for those of us living in the Southern Utah desert, but remember, in Valdivia it's winter and the temps are about 35 degrees at the time Elder Stirling would be showering)

When we were in the house of our dueño (landlord) this week, we were teaching him and he has gone to our ward 2 weeks in a row now. But...he continues to have a problem with drinking and stuff so he can't be baptized yet. He is way awesome and has always been since he started renting to the missionaries.

This week in my studies I was focusing a lot on the principles of obedience and consecration. It is important lots of time for the investigators of the church and even members of the church that they understand the importance of these. First, obedience is important for one reason that we are in similitude with the will of God. And second that we should be consecrated as members of the church and me especially as a missionary. Consecration means that we are willing to put our will in line with God's will. There is a talk or Devotional called "The Fourth Missionary" by Lawrence E. Corbridge and it talks a lot about the ways that we as missionaries (but not just missionaries) can be more obedient by the examples of 4 missionaries. It is super good and I recommend it to you all to read. I just want you all to know that I know that this church is true and that the Lord loves you all so much. But I will talk to you all next week. CHOW HASTA SEMANA!
