Provo MTC

Elder Amasio

Week 5

Hola Everybody!

I can't believe it has already been a week since I last emailed!! Crazy! So much happened this week but I'll just mention the biggest things.

For starters, we finally got our Travel Plans yesterday!!!!!! We leave the MTC at 8:30 am on Monday, the 24th! Our flight leaves SLC at 1:50, then we fly to Atlanta. We have a 3 hour layover there, and then we'll fly straight to Buenos Aires, it's like a 13 hour flight! Luckily it will be all night so we can just sleep (hopefully!) on that plane ride! That's all we know so far, so hopefully we get to Cordoba somehow. We'll see!

On Sunday last week I was also made Zone Leader! It's kinda scary to be in charge of the whole zone but it's really fun too! My goal is to know everyone's names in our zone by the time we leave. So far it's not going too good. haha. We got to welcome in a new district on Wednesday and talk with them all night about what to expect in the MTC, and then we got to give them a tour of the whole MTC! It was actually really fun! Another bonus of being a Zone Leader is that we have a phone! It's the first time I've seen a phone since I left! Unfortunately, the phone practically does nothing. We can receive calls and texts, but can't call or text back. And that's about it, it's just cool to carry a phone around, we feel so cool :)
One bad thing about this week is that I'm STILL SICK! It just doesn't go away! In our district, we have 11 people and only 2 of them aren't sick. It's crazy!!! It's so gross to have people constantly blowing their noses and coughing but there's not really anything we can do! We go through about 2 Kleenex boxes a day! Also, we are singing with Nashville Tribute (a religious band) on Sunday and Tuesday this week so there will be guitars, drums, etc and a lot of upbeat music so that will be super nice!

My teachers here at the MTC are amazing, especially Hermano Stewart! He's a huge futbol fan so he tells me all about RSL and USA! He never misses a game and plans his teaching schedule around his games, it's hilarious! He's so cool though! My other teacher, Hermana Pipkin, gets married a week from today so she's going crazy! This next week is going to be so stressful for her but she's still super focused on us and she's a great teacher!

I love this Gospel so much! I have learned so much about the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon while I've been here and I just love everything about our church! I'm so lucky to know who I am, where I came from, and where I'm going! There is nothing that can stop me from living with Heavenly Father again and I love being able to serve Christ every single day, 24 hours a day! The church truly changes people and I've already seen that through the MTC! I love the MTC but I'm definitely ready to go to Argentina! Only 9 more days! I can't wait! I hope everyone has a good week this week and I love you all!

Hasta Luego,
Elder Bushman
