Week 23 (Carlos Antonio Lopez)

Hello Everyone,

Well I will be straight up honest, this week was hard. My companion and I had a couple disagreements, the work didnt progress the way we were hoping, and we both got sick but I will say it was a good week. Because even if I cant see it right now, there is always a reason for things that happen.

My scripture this week is in Alma 5:12-14
" 12 And according to his faith there was a mighty changewrought in his heart. Behold I say unto you that this is all true.

13 And behold, he preached the word unto your fathers, and a mighty change was also wrought in their hearts, and they humbled themselves and put their trust in the true and living God. And behold, they were faithful until theend; therefore they were saved.

14 And now behold, I ask of you, my brethren of the church, have ye spiritually been born of God? Have ye received his image in your countenances? Have ye experienced this mighty change in your hearts?
I love this chapter because Alma preaches exactly what we need today. Exactly what I need for my life. I try my best to follow Christ everyday but I truly need to be born again of God. I have my testimony without a doubt but I really need to be converted to Christ so that I can do everything that he would do. That is my goal and that is why I try to progress in the gospel everyday.

Well we had a Broadcast from Elder Bednar for all the missionaries in Paraguay Argentina Chile and Uruguay this week and it was awesome. Elder Bednar talked about learning from faith and how really our investigators need to be acting on their own free will to build their faith and their testimonies. It really helped me as a missionary.

On Friday Elder Lobos and I started to get sick. We both had Fever, Muscle Aches, Back pain (all the symptoms of Dengue Fever.........) I felt better on Saturday but Elder Lobos went to the Doctor and Sunday I started to feel sick again but I still wanted to wait to go to the doctor. Today we both feel a lot better and that is really good because I dont want anything to do with Dengue Fever....just be grateful that we dont have Dengue in the States!!

Ramon and Sonia unfortunately wont be getting married tonight. But this weekend yes. Something happened with the Paperwork and so we had to postpone it a little but all good!

Shirley is still doing good. she was at church yesterday (so I heard, Elder Lobos was pretty sick yesterday morning so we couldnt go to church) and we are continuing to teach her!

Well a tough week but there is always good things that the Lord puts to lift our Spirit. I hope each one of you can always find the little rays of sunshine that God always puts in the darkness for us as his children!

WIth love,

Elder Willardson
