From Russia With Love
Hello Family and Friends,
What a week! We started out on exchanges with the APs. It was very good day with a lot of success contacting. On Wednesday we had a great Zone Conference! I got to hear testimonies from all the missionaries going home and 3 of them have been my companions.(Elders Nelson, Kennedy and Lamb) They are great and I will surely miss them.
We taught Igor this week. He is doing great. Still accepting everything that we teach. He just says that he isn't quite ready to come back to church. He is so funny. I walk into his house and put my hand out for a hand shake and he says in English "brothers don't shake hands, brothers gotta hug!" -Tommy Boy. Then he gives a big bear hug! It was pretty funny.
We have started to do something new with our friends. We invite them to the church building for some 1 on 1 time. We play ping pong or chess and then take them on a tour of the building. Once we get to the computer room we show them a video about the Book of Mormon. This week we got 4 new investigators. They all thought that it was so interesting. They asked really great questions.
Sunday night we did a tour with one of our friends. His name is Andre. We started off with the tour. We then showed the Book of Mormon video. (It's about the black guy that lives in London). He then asked a ton of questions about it. Most of them were about Christ visiting the Americas. We ended up reading 3rd Nephi 11 with him. He is pretty interested. It was great. We then played chess. I played against him. I am really bad at chess. Elder Lamb was embarrassed for me.
We were walking near the Volga. We are just walking and we stop and talk to the people on the benchs and all of them are interested in a game night or an English night. We were given 3 numbers from people just sitting on the benches. It was a miracle! We talked to another teenager and he thought that it was interesting that we would come to Saratov to be volunteers. He wants to come to game night. Hopefully we can give him a tour of the Church as well.
These next couple of weeks we will be traveling all over the place. We will be going to Astrakahn, Volgograd, Rostov and Penza. I will have lots of pictures for you all.
