New Companion/Last Ever Zone Conference in the Samara Mission
Hello Family and Friends,
What a great week!
We had a great last zone conference in the Russia Samara Mission. Our mission is officially closing and becoming part of the Rostov Mission.
We met with one of our friends. His name is Misha. The senior couple invited him over to show how to make Russia pancakes and to talk more about why we are here in Russia. We made some pancakes and ate a lot of them. Then we talked about the Book of Mormon. We talked about why we have the Book of Mormon. Then we all testified about what the Book of Mormon has done in our lives. It was super powerful. Hopefully we can get another meeting with him.
Crazy story! We are walking to the gym at 6:45 in the morning. Elder Lamb sees this guy approaching us who looks familiar. He stops him and talks to him. He asks us if we are mormons. We answered yes. He asked us why we havent visited him in a while. We then ask him if we could meet tonight and he agrees. He is totally inactive and went back to some old habits. I went to the lesson with Elder Hepworth (we were on splits). We decide to talk to him about Joseph Smith and prayer. This was one of the most spirit filled meetings that I have been in. As we testified I could feel the spirit so strong. It was awesome.
We had a lesson with a less active. We took Elder Bowler (senior couple) with us to the meeting. We talked a lot about the Book of Mormon. We then let Elder Bowler share his testimony. He told a story about how his grandaughter just died randomly while he was on his mission. He then said that it was a dark time but that the Book of Mormon helped him get through it. The less active member then said "I will read the Book of Mormon." I think that Elder Bowler's testimony was the helper on this lesson. Then Elder Bowler gets a call from his wife saying that his dad died. It was crazy but I am so glad that we had Elder Bowler with us that lesson on his last day in Russia.
A lot about the Book of Mormon! I love the Book of Mormon. It is my favorite Book and the only Book that I have read more than once:) I know that it is true.
