Testimony of Fasting
Hello family and friends,
Special week this week. Truly one for the books. Russian is still hard, but I'm understanding and speaking more which is good. This young single adult in the stake was talking to me and I just smiled and nodded because I had no clue what she was saying. She said your smile gives away that you dont understand. So I have decided not to smile the rest of my mission. Haha just kidding
The ward is doing a fast for missionary work and finding people to share the message with. We started early on Saturday so that we could have an earlier dinner on Sunday. It was tough as soon as we started. I was hungry. Every time I thought about eating, I would focus on the purpose of it and that helped a lot. When we were going to go to sleep, I threw the phone on Elder Nelson's bed saying I feel like someone important Russian person is going to call. TEN minutes later someone calls and says that they are bringing someone to church for the first time. We were so pumped we couldn't sleep. It was amazing. We also met with this member guy and told him to share the gospel with someone. He called us on Friday and told us that he was also bringing someone to church. It was truly a miracle. Fasting works! My testimony in fasting has grown the past 2 days for sure.
61 people at church which is a new record for this year. 7 potential baptisms for the next month or so. Everything is just going great. I would like to think that I did a part of that but I didn't. I was just a messenger and a helper. Maybe fasting also played into it. IDK
We went on splits with the Zone Leaders. Which was really fun. We did service. This was the weirdest thing that I have ever done. It's called the Russian system. The goal was to clear some dirt so that he could build an outdoor bathroom. We shoveled dirt into flour sacks carried them 2 blocks in a 3 wheeled wagon that just didnt work. Someone had to pull the side that didn't have the wheel up so we could pull it. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen.
Had a lot of good food this week. Sushi twice and KFC once and kebabs once. Not a lot of Russian food haha.
Everything is just going great. I am having a blast. I feel my testimony growing every day. And it's good that a testimony is something you feel because my Russian isn't good enough to explain it.
This was a special week because of the fast, church members and potential investigators and baptisms.

6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
I am just trying to plant seeds here in Russia. God truly is giving increase. Why else would we have so many people at church? it wasn't my doing. I was just helping and God did the rest.
