Elder Chase Dorius

Life in hiding

Spiritual thought: This week in Come follow me we read D&C 4 and this is one of my favorite chapters, and as a Mission Leadership Council president invited us to memorize it (still working on that), but something that stood out to me this week from reading it was verse 3 which reads " Therefore, if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work;" I love this all it takes is a desire for God to work Miracles in our lives. If you want to feel God more in your life it first starts with the desire which will lead to action, the Lord loves effort and will bless you for it! Love you all!
This week was interesting, because my new comp Elder Entwistle is going back to chili in a couple of weeks we have to soft quarantine, this means we can't have member dinners we can't go to church and we can't go to district council, which is kind of  a bummer but the work moves on. We are allowed to go do lessons and baptismal interviews so that's good.
We got 2 referrals this week, both seem pretty solid and we are meeting with them on Tuesday and Wednesday so we are super excited about that. We were supposed to have a lesson with our friend Carson on Friday but he got covid so that stinks but he is still doing good. We had the opportunity to do a baptismal interview this week and that is always such a special experience, we interviewed a 9 year old kid and even though he was only 9 the spirit was so strong as he bore his little simple testimony of Jesus Christ it was so amazing. We got in contact with our friend Kathy. She is having some health problems but said she wants to meet and come to church with her family next week so we are super excited for that. This next week looks like a good one, it's so amazing to see God push forward his work during this time, and I am so humbled to be a part of it!
Love Elder Asplund
