Spiritual thought: This week we had the sacrament in our home and we had a little sacrament meeting and we listened to my favorite talk, and Hymn number 85: How Firm a Foundation. As I was listening I was thinking about everything that was going on and this verse hit me really hard "Fear not, I am with thee; oh, be not dismayed,For I am thy God and will still give thee aid. I’ll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand,Upheld by my righteous, upheld by my righteous,Upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand." This line hit me really hard and I got kind of emotional. During all this that is happening God is with us we need not fear, he is with us, he loves us individually and personally! SO Fear Not God is with you!
Day 1: Not an eventful day. Today was not a super eventful day we did a lot of contacting members and potentials today but not many people wanted to talk to us because of the CoronaVirus. We had lunch with this family named the Alonso's and the wife is from Venezuela and she made the best food man it was so good!
Day 2: CoronaVirus type of day! Well we started off this morning by buying a 2 week supply of food just in case we are quarantined so hopefully that doesn't happen (little did we know this was in our future haha). After that we studied and did some phone contacting, we contacted a lot of people. We started out by calling some of our friends and we actually had a lesson with our friend De'anthony on the phone so that was super cool. We then had the idea to contact some members, so we ended up contacting 20 and it went super good. We had good conversations with a lot of them and we just asked how they were doing and if they needed any help and they were super appreciative and grateful so I think we built some good member trust! We then went tracting and no one opened the door so yeah haha.
Day 3: District council! District council was interesting because we only had a couple of companionships there and the rest called in so that was kind of weird. But it was still an awesome district council and learned some things about family history so that was cool. The rest of the day was pretty slow we tried to do some different types of finding (tracting, mall oym, street oym's) and nothing really worked mall was dead and no one really wanted to talk to us but oh well we push on!
Day 4: Time for quarantine life! We got the message that we are no longer allowed to go outside to do missionary work so that kinda stinks but the good thing is we get facebook in the mission now so we'll see how that goes. Day was super boring we just called some of our friends, studied a lot and tried to figure out how to find with technology. But the lord's work moves on even if the world stops the lord's work doesn't what an exciting time!
Day 5: Day 2 of quarantine! More of the same today contacted some members and friends studied a lot and tried to figure out how to find.
Day 6: Sabbath day while quarantined! Today was a pretty good day. We had 2 lessons over the phone with Todd and Ray which both went super good! We had a home church meeting and got to partake of the sacrament and we had some really good conversations with members overall a pretty good day for not being able to go outside.
Got TDoc earlier today and I will be staying in the Village and finishing Elder Postma's training, I will also be a district leader this transfer so that is super cool i'm excited! Final thought is from John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
