Hello friends and family! Another week has come and gone! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! I sure did and enjoyed of what we think is the last of the warm weather. We had a few 50-60 degree days and all the snow melted. Pretty cool week!
Monday we had our pday and our appointments fell through that evening so we went and did some finding. Tuesday was a cool day! We taught our top investigator Traci Settlemyer, who is on date to be baptized December 12th, and helped answer her questions! She is so solid from the minute we met her, we taught the restoration on her front doorstep when we knocked into her! She is awesome! We taught another cool lesson that night in Bancroft, a town in our area, to Elijah Patton and his girlfriend. We taught Elijah a couple weeks ago, he's the guy that cant read. Well jokes on us he reads just fine I guess it came across to us that he doesn't read very well. We taught the Restoration again to him and his girlfriend Katie, who we picked up that night as an investigator. They are solid, and we read the Book of Mormon with them too, because they were really curious about it and wanted to read it with us. So we did and we got to help them understand it and answer their questions. It was awesome! We will be inviting them to be baptized soon! Wednesday we had our district meeting and learned about helping investigators keep commitments. I learned a lot of cool things to help my investigators progress! One of the things I learned was that when I keep my commitments, then my investigators will keep theirs. All three of our appointments fell through, so we went and did some knocking and personal contacting. Thursday was obviously Thanksgiving, and we had Thanksgiving at the Stowers home. Will Stowers is a recent convert and we are working with his family now. They had some family over as well, and we were able to answer some questions about us missionaries and the work! Really cool experience! Just an all around good Thanksgiving! Friday we had our weekly planning and it was our walking day! We did lots of personal contacting and contacting potentials. Saturday was pretty cool, we went up to Alpena, my companions previous area way up north, where he baptized Roger. It was a cool experience to see that! It is awesome how the gospel changes lives! Roger quit his job so he could come to church on Sunday! How cool is that?! Really blessed to be able to witness that! Sunday we had church and had a great turnout! After church we taught Traci the word of wisdom, which she totally accepted! She has no problems with any of it! We talked about her baptism as well, and she has asked me to baptize her! I'm so excited! I was just blown away that she would ask me! She is super excited to be baptized! The church is true, and this gospel blesses our lives! As we follow our Savior Jesus Christ, we are promised eternal life!
Love you all and have a great week! Merry Christmas!
