So I'm out here. In the field. Pretty crazy. My first area is called Bridgeton, NJ. It's about 45% Hispanic, so we have no shortage of people who we can talk to.
My first field comp is also pretty cool. His name is Elder Tan. He's actually from Keller. He went to Central but he graduated class of 2018. He's got 11 months done in his mission. He likes to play basketball.
Our apartment is pretty nice. We've got. A pretty big room and a study space and a bathroom and a kitchen and a living room. So no complaints there. Our landlord is the 97 year old named Bebe who lives below us. She's super sweet and grandmotherly.
We really didn't have very many lessons this week. We just drove around and knocked on doors to try to meet some of the amigos and the members. Unfortunately, they werent home most of the time. We have figured out that the hours of 1-4 are when most people are not home.
This week I was reading in 2 Nephi. In 2 Nephi 2, it talks a lot about the Atonement of Jesus Christ. In fact, it is the first mention if the word "atonement" in the entire Book of Mormon. This is all about Lehi and his family, who lived some 600 years before Christ, yet still believed that he would make an atonement for them. They trusted in that, and God blessed them. We need to trust in our Savior. He did die for us. He did suffer for every sin and affliction and heartache and injury that had ever happened to any person in the history of the world. He is our older brother, and he loves us deeply. I know this to be true and I have seen it in my own life.
Anyways, I love yall and I hope you're doing well. Keep sending the emails. I love getting them. Be good. Make good choices. Trust in Christ.
