It has been a fun week. We now have running water, electricity, and a washing machine. I have to say that I never told God how grateful I am for these things, until now!
Here is the update here in Telemaco Borba:
- We met a family this week and were in their house. When they heard that I was an American, they said, "Oh we have a cousin in the states." This is not an unusual thing to hear. Everyone here in Brazil has a cousin, aunt, friend, or someone living up in the states. I asked where their cousin was, just out of curiosity, and they said, "Hexbur." I thought, "no way...", I bet they are talking about Rexburg Idaho! (Where my older brother and other friends live.) As it turns out, their cousin is living there, studying at BYU-I, and has served a mission. It was the smallest of worlds down here in Brazil. We shared our message about Christ and then encouraged them to reach out to their cousin about our message.
- I have to say that I am not envying all of those of you who are having the cold weather right now. We have had some good weather down here, besides the rain, and I am thankful for that.
- Another cool moment for me came this week when in church we had a visitor in church. He was born here in Telemaco Borba, but moved to the States, met someone from Canada, and is now living there. He had come backfor a visit. Why I mention this story is because he gave his testimony in church and what phrases he kept saying was "God is good" and "God blesses us." It just made me think back to how much God has given me.
Love you all and thank you for your support. Change the World,
