Tenemos una cultura de andar valiendo!

Hope yall are having a great week!! Just a heads up, my Pday changed to Saturday from here on out!

This week was wild!   Man this week flew by and was so fun. On Monday I got the call to head to Valsequillo in the area Agua Azul. It was so fun the first night because we all worked on transfers with President Jensen and the gang until late in the night. We got home at 11:30 and had to do the initiation round with tacos on the street corner and then keep working on the transfers and meetings.

The rest of the week was pretty much a blur. We have been working on transfers everyday and organizing and having meetings with the missionaries so we haven't been sleeping much.

During the week we taught President and Sister Jensen some slang and discussed the culture of the mission. In the middle of a training in the trainers meeting, President dropped a bomb and said "Tenemos una cultura de andar valiendo" (we have a culture of doing nothing essentially). Everyone died laughing. We had no idea Pres. was gonna be that direct.

One of the good moments of the week... we hit up a buffet after a training meeting and the place was called 'Mr. Pez' and it was legit. I can't even remember how many tacos and plates of food I ate!

I loved the talk in Priesthood Session of General Conference titled, "This is our time!" by Elder Gifford Nelson. He talked a ton about our choices and love. There was a motto in his ward that was "Good Choices = Happiness Eternally". We, in our lives, live through afflictions and sorrows, but as we do our best to make good choices and keep our covenants, we will receive a fullness of joy... eternally!! The gospel of Jesus Christ really does help us to overcome our challenges of life and be happy now to prepare us to be happy forever. We will never be perfect, but we can try and through the grace of Jesus Christ we can make it after all that we can do. Another sweet council I took from this talk was when he quoted a bishop helping a member in the ward. He said, "The Lord knows you, loves you, and is pleased with you and the courageous steps you are taking. You need to hear the commandment to love yourself so you can feel God's love and love for others." It reaffirms the love that God really does have for us and how the only way that we can find it is by learning to love ourselves. Not becoming prideful, but able to love ourselves how God loves us. We are all sons and daughters of a Heavenly Father who knows us by name and only does what is best for us in our lives.

I sure love y'all and if there's anything at all that I can do for you, please let me know!!
