I have the RONA...
What a wild week we had! We are officially back into quarantine :(
So we had transfers and we got about 30 mins of sleep last Tuesday because we packed for Elder Mismash so late and had to get up at 1:30am to go. I'm sure gonna miss him.
So, we found out after transfers that people in our zone tested positive for the Rona and had come in direct contact with us all. Better yet, before we knew they had Rona, they did a ton of transfers and were shipped all around the entire mission. Bad timing! Pretty much our entire mission has the virus now. Pretty dope!! We all have felt like trash and I've had some of the worst migraines of my life. I can barely function, but we are working hard and making the most of it.
I had to say goodbye to the meme legend Elder Mismash, and now have the cool opportunity to train Elder Montgomery. He is from Utah, like many guessed, and we get along super well. He has such a big heart!! Probably not the most fun week for him to get here right when we shut the whole mission back down. He is a trooper tho.
We taught a lot over the phone and had some really cool lessons. It's cool how the spirit is still in lessons although we can't be there physically!!
So I've been studying alot about the Anti-Nephi-Lehies and their conversion story and now how the same principles relate to the Zoromites. Alma, before he starts teaching these wildly apostate people, says that he learned from the Anti-Nephi-Lehies that "...the preaching of the word had a great tendency to lead the people to do that which was just—yea, it had had more powerful effect upon the minds of the people than the sword, or anything else, which had happened unto them—therefore Alma thought it was expedient that they should try the virtue of the word of God." I love that! The word of God changes our hearts and our desires. When we let it, we are able to be more just in our dealings, be more obedient, and love our neighbors. I know and have grown to see that the Gospel changes everything about us when we let it!!
