Elder Oaks, Jose and blessings! - group email

Hey everyone!

It's been another successful week at the MTC! Lots of stuff happens and it seems like the week just meshes all into one very long day! Its going by super fast! Luckily I'm learning a lot and preparing as much as possible! Every day is about the same. We get up at 6:30 And have breakfast at 7:45. We have class from 8:30 to 11:30. Lunch is at 12:00 and then we go to class again at 1:30 and goes til 4:30. 4:30 is dinner and then we exercise from 5:25-6:25. After that we prepare to teach our investigator and our appointments are at 8:00-8:25. After that we study and head to bed by 10:30.

So every Sunday and Tuesday we have devotionals. And the greatest one was last Tuesday when Dallin H. Oaks spoke! It was such an amazing talk and he talked to us about repentance and converting ourselves to the gospel in order to convert others. Such an amazing experience and we all learned so much from it. I sat about 6 rows back from the podium so we got a real good view! We also heard another talk this past Sunday from former football player Chad Lewis who played with BYU and the Philadelphia Ealges! His testimony is still so strong and he's so great at serving others!

We've had some really awesome experienced lately. So everyone has been getting kinda sick in our district and not feeling well. One of the sisters in our district got it really bad and asked for a blessing. So some of us elders were able to give her a blessing and she feels so much better. It was an awesome experience and a testimony of priesthood power. During exercise time we all go ham! We play volleyball, basketball, spike ball, whatever we can play where we all get in on the action! Its super fun! This past Saturday as many of you know was BYU vs Utah State for college football. There's a couple windows that you can see out of and see Levi Edwards stadium haha. Lots of elders were trying to see if they could see the score hahahah.

We got to see a bit of Meet the Mormons 2 one night. It was so cool! There's so many awesome new stories! It was super fun! For our departing song our zone is gonna sing come unto christ. We've been practicing and it's gonna be really fun! The power of music here is so important. It really invites the spirit and can really change your mission experience. I've started noticing certain lines and songs I've never noticed that are really meaningful.

Allnthe Florida missionaries are super pumped to be able to go and help with the rebuilding efforts or the hurricane. It'll be a great way for us to get our foot in the door and help those in need. And hopefully in return they'll let us share a message with them. We're super excited and wish we were there helping them now! 2 Nephi chapter 2 has been my favorite chapter to study so far. The fall of Adam and agency is really finally starting to really click for me. Thanks to the wonderful spirit that is here, I'm able to learn and understand doctrine more easily. It's more powerful and meaningful. I'm excited to be able to preach repentance and get people on the path to eternal happiness. I hope everyone is doing well! Keep the people of Florida in your hearts as well as everyone else in the world suffering from these disasters. I love you all!

Obedience brings blessings. Exact obedience brings miracles.
