Week 16

Hey Everyone

Thank you all again for all the love you show me. Thank you for your prayers and your thoughts. I am truly grateful and don't know how to express it.

Tuesday we visited so many houses but the people weren't in them. We weren't able to teach much but I tried to make the most of it. We taught a lady named Sirley. She is only wanting to listen. We asked her if she would receive an answer from God that this church and our message were true, would she get baptized. She told us she cant say and most likely no because of her family. That made me realize that we truly do have the choice to choose God or choose our way. There is never going to be a opportune time to follow God. We need to take that step of faith. I also today felt the spirit leave as I walked down the street. I immediately told my companion and we rerouted. It was the first time I have felt like that

Wednesday we sang as a zone in the local mall. We sang a variety of songs. Afterwards we contacted and tried to get appointments with people. It felt so cool to announce the birth of Christ and invite others to learn of him. Earlier I studied for Areli Torres. The spirit prompted me to the baptismal questions. I was prompted that she had not repented of her sins and doesn't consider herself forgiven. When we arrived I asked her about it. As it turns out the Spirit was right. She had not. With my own reason I wouldn't have guessed that but I am so glad the spirit spoke to me.

Thursday i started reading the bible with a purpose. I want to find Christ. Wise men still seek him. I read in Matthew 2 about the wise men. I felt the exceeding joy of those three men as they offered their gifts to him. The spirit was so strong and I know that Jesus is the Christ. I started to tear up. Later I talked in front of the ward council all by myself. I did it without the help of my companion because we had started exchanges. I was scared half to death. but I was able to do it. I thank God for my progess

Friday we were in exchanges. I was with Elder Alvarex and we taught Maritza. We taught the Plan of Salvation and she was mesmerized that we lived with God before the Earth began. It was really cool. She accepted the invitation to be baptized. We later visited a lady named Elena Silva. She was a little hesitant to let us in but we asked if we could sing a hymn. We sang "Families Can Be Together Forever". She opened up more and she liked the hymn. We are going to return Wednesday.

Saturday was alright. I felt a prompting to visit a family but I didn't trust it. I feel bad for this. We later visited Margot. We taught her the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We taught by the spirit and I felt it strongly. We ended with a prayer kneeling on the ground and she offered it. At one point during the prayer she started to cry. She said help me God, I feel so confused. Help me to know if this is right. The spirit was so strong at this moment. Later we taught a lady named Gisela. She is a less active and we invited her to church and she agreed.

Sunday was good. We visited people in the morning inviting them to come to church. We spent almost 3 hours doing this. We didn't have many that came though. This was sad. During one of the classes one of our investigators was amazed at the idea of family History work. He immediately was so excited. This was so cool to see!

I know that my Savior lives. I know that he is sending angels to help prepare his people to come to him. I know that his gospel is true. I know the spirit guides and through it we can receive revelation from God.
