2017 Cricket MVP

So this week my story actually comes from 2 weeks ago when I was in Barbados.

I was there for exchanges for a couple of days. I was contacting door to door when we came up to this nice little house.

We knocked and waited.

This nice guy came out. First thing I noticed was Wow this guy has some nice White teeth. Like it caught my eye they were so white. Granted I'm not saying they were as white a Giada from the Food Network but they were some nice teeth.

So we get talking to him about what he likes to do...you know, "small talk."

He likes sports. "Okay, what kind of sports?" I asked.

He says he "likes Cricket." The Elder I was with asked if he is on the West Indies team (that team is a pretty big deal- just Goggle it, I'm sure). He said yes!!

So Elder Hendricks says "Oh wow, you're really good then!?"

He responds, "I'm alright."

Okay so no big deal, we just continued the conversation and presented our message. He was super nice but not super interested. He said we can stop by another day if he's there and we can talk .

So it went well overall. As we were leaving I asked him what his name is and he said, "Shai."

So the next day we're contacting in another neighborhood. We knocked at a house but there was no answer. As we were leaving I stepped on something and looked down. It was a newspaper front page, titled...

SHAI HOPE 2017 MVP

I noticed right away it was totally the same guy!! Apparently he's like the greatest living cricket player on the planet!!! The newspaper says he single handedly won the title last year for the West Indies team!!

This guy said he's "alright"....

So my message this week is on Humility.

BE HUMBLE even as Shai was humble.

Love,
Elder Casady
