Hey everyone hope y'all still remember who I am. It's been a while since I've heard from most of you but I'll be home sooner than y'all think. This week has been one of ups and downs so be ready for a longer email.
Monday was a weird day. I found out that one of my best friends from high school had very suddenly been called home by our Heavenly Father. Alan, the gentle giant, had always been the one to keep me in the right mindset. He had been the one to drive me to do better in sports, school, scouts, church and just in the general walk of life. He is an amazing son of God who serves Him with all his heart, spirit and strength. In desiring to serve our Heavenly Father. After serving for a time in Australia, I know he now serves as a missionary to those on the other side who have not had a chance to come unto Christ and accept his gospel. Alan, I believe, is a general for God in the fight against the adversary. He now fights a battle of spiritual matters. I have hope knowing that we will see him again and we will all be resurrected.
41 And what is it that ye shall hope for? Behold I say unto you that ye shall have hope through the atonement of Christ and the power of his resurrection, to be raised unto life eternal, and this because of your faith in him according to the promise.
This week I had an exchange with Elder Stansel that was super laid back. We had interviews with President Smith in Pensacola in the morning. Then had studies, went back to Navarre, and did some good ole finding. The next day we helped some members move from Navarre to Pensacola. For lunch we went to this place called McGuire's Irish Pub. So good and I got this giant trash burger with basically every topping available in the restaurant. So good!
This Saturday Elder Barkdull and I went to the baptism of two 8 year olds in our ward and it was a super cool experience. We had 7 Non members and 1 investigator attend.
Ok so we had this bomb lesson this week with these people in our apartment complex. They are named JT and Victoria. Victoria is a member and JT is probably gonna join the church. He goes on a small trip this week and next so it'll be a bit before we get to visit with him again.
Had another lesson with Caitlyn this week. She is loving the ward and seminary. She went to the baptism on Saturday. Loved it too!
Had another lesson with Micheal he is said the biggest reason he wants to be baptized is so he can be sealed to his wife and kid.
Had another lesson with Justin he's still chugging along.
Overall this week felt like a roller coaster but I must say that we do have a loving Heavenly Father who wants us to communicate with Him. He knows us and loves us. He sent his son to die for us and we need to rely more on the savior.
