Bainbridge, Georgia

Ethan Scott Belliston

Open your mouth & testify

Well this week has been one full of events! I hope everyone has been able to enjoy their week! I didn't bring my journal to Marianna so this will be a short one.

Monday, September 18:
P-day...Elder Belliston's Birthday!!!
Tuesday, September 19:
Today we had district meeting and went on exchanges with our zone leaders, Elder Burningham and Elder Cowart. It was so much fun! We all stayed in Bainbridge.
Wednesday, September 20:
More fun stuff with the Zone leaders. We are still continuing to meet with Alvin. We have however moved his baptismal date to November 11 because he still wants to learn more and be able to feel fully committed before he is baptized.
Thursday, September 21:
Today marks the day that I have been out on my mission for 3 months! I can't believe it went by so fast! Elder Belliston and I went to a restaurant called The American. It was super good but on the expensive side.
Friday, September 22:
Don't remember much...sorry.
Saturday, September 23:
The big thing for today was that we had set up a lesson for Alvin and Amaris. We were also joined by a member family. Alvin has gone through things in his life and been able to overcome them since meeting with Elder Belliston and I. We asked him to share his story and testimony with Amaris. As he was bearing his testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel I felt overcome with peace and comfort like nothing I have experienced in my entire life. He talked about his love for the Book of Mormon and church. He shared how he felt after receiving his first priesthood blessing. He expressed his understanding of Joseph Smith's role in the Restoration and how he knew it was true. He testified of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and how it has helped him in his life. To end it all, he promised Amaris she could have the same help in her life if she turned her life over to Christ. Never in my life have been able to feel the Holy Spirit so strongly. I love his example to Amaris.
Sunday, September 24:
Sacrament meeting was so amazing! I loved being able to see families coming back to church.

Scripture and a Quote:

3 Nephi 5:13
"13 Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life."

"Open your mouth!"
-Elder Jeffrey R. Holland
