Letter 67
What's up guys-
This week was another step in the right direction for us in our area. We found a few more promising people. The highlight being Manuel and Maricielo. Two siblings that live together basically by themselves. Their mom works from early in the morning to late at night and their dad works in Trujillo. They are super awesome. When we asked if they had any questions, they asked "How can we attend your church?" haha, that's one of my favorite questions to answer. Manuel even came to the ward activity that we had on Friday. So, hopefully we will see progress with them. One of the problems we have been having is getting people to come to church. So we ́re gonna focus more on that this week.
This week I saw some other miracles that helped me see some of my past efforts paying off. First, Oscar brought a friend to the ward activity and when Oscar had mentioned that we were the missionaries that baptized him, his friend recognized me. It took me a few minutes to remember who she was. Then I remembered that she was the very first person that I contacted on my mission way back in Jorge Chavez! haha I'll have to look back at my old emails and see if i wrote about it. It was when I barely knew any Spanish and Elder Guzman would not let us leave until I contacted her. I did, but she worked and studied a lot so we couldn't ever teach her consistently. She happened to be friends with Oscar and came to the activity this week. Funny how that worked out. So, no effort is ever wasted.
Also, I got a call from Luis Aguirre this week, my first convert on my mission (also from Jorge Chavez.) He told me that he will be getting endowed and sealed in the temple this month!!! Crazy! I was so happy for him, he is doing amazing. He is the first counselor in the bishopric and is super strong in the gospel. So, that made me excited more than anything this week. To see that a family will be getting sealed and that I was able to play a small part in it.
