Letter 59

Hey guys-

This week was the dreaded week 6 (transfer week) and it was probably the busiest week of my mission! We were so busy getting things ready for transfers, getting everything ready for the new guys coming in, and for the guys that are leaving. It's a lot of work! Out of the 7 days of the week, we got to work in our area 3 out of the 7. The other 4 we were in the office or running errands the whole day! Strangley enought, week 6 is when everyone decides to get sick ha. Seriously, I had like no health stuff to deal with most of the transfer, and then once week 6 hits, there was a ton of health problems. People were going to clinics like everyday. Saturday night I was getting ready to go to bed, when I got a call from a missionary who said he had fallen down the stairs and fractured his ankle. So, we had to send him to the clinic at 11 at night and since President was headed up to Tumbes and was already hours away, I went with the elder to the clinic to make sure everything got squared away with the insurance. I didn't go to bed that night until 2am waiting for the emergency room to be able to attend to him. It's too bad because that elder was going to to start training, but he can't now because he's going to be in a cast for the next 3 weeks. So, we had to make a few emergency transfers afterwards. Speaking of training...Elder Lyman (the companion I got to train in Huangala) is going to be training now!!! On the mish we say, that means I'm gonna be a grandpa!!! I was pretty excited. Elder Lyman is an awesome missionary. He is gonna do great.

Well, that was a little summary of my week. I just finished my 2nd transfer here in the office. If everything goes according to plan, I'll be out of the office in December, but we'll see. Si dios quiere.

Nothing really happening in our area because, like any other area, you have to be able to visit it for there to be progress. So we don't have too much going on right now. But, we´ll pick it up after Week 1. Another really busy week. We did however take Mirian out to visit with us in our very few lessons that we had this week and she is so amazing! She is super friendly and is such a natural at sharing the gospel. Like no practice, no 6 weeks at the MTC, and she shares the gospel better than the rest of us full time missionaries. She's thinking about going on a mission. Also, we went out with Oscar too and he's the same way too. Really good at sharing the gospel with others and he also wants to serve a mission. So, we´ll see what happens, but our converts are on fire right now.

Anyway, hope everyone has a good week.

Elder Andelin
