Hey everyone! So I'm in Damascus now, and I really like the area. It”s a smaller area but, so many places to knock! My favorite!!! Elder Tucker is awesome, has a real desire to work hard to do the right thing! Really grateful to the Lord for putting us together, I can tell this is going to be great! We got into the area and the Bishop called us and wanted to meet. He's awesome, really wants to further the missionary work here! I guess a email got sent around this week that we were coming and we've been having calls ever since from families in the ward to feed us! Our month is filled....every single night!! Super crazy, never have had that before! Church was really good this week. It was fast Sunday for this ward and Elder Tucker and I got the opportunity to bare our testimonies. This ward is about the same size as Antietam was, but the difference is they have so many less active members, so we already have a list of people we are going to go visit. And since there hasn't been missionaries in the ward in a while, we start off with three investigators that have been coming to church consistently for a long time, and we already have an appointment with a few of them. Then to put the cherry on top we had a dinner last night with a family in our ward and they have lined up a dinner for us next week with a family that wants to be taught! Haha, we were like what?! "The field is white and all ready to harvest!" So all in all I am extremely excited for this area! There's also a lot of part members families that all attend church, kinda crazy! So I hope all goes well ;)
My spiritual thought this week is gonna be a little short just because I’m running low on time, but I wanted to talk a little about the priesthood.
1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
3 And this will we do, if God permit.
I hope that we can always remember that this is God's church and it is only God's Church and because we hold His authority to act in His name. Just as in times of old, we have a prophet, and apostles who are mouth pieces for our Father in Heaven, and hold all the keys to the kingdom here upon the earth. How grateful am I that we do have God's authority upon the earth, and even more grateful that I have always had a priesthood holder in my home all of my life to receive direction for me and my family. I hope I can be the same for my future family. In conclusion, Heavenly Father has permitted all the ordinances necessary for our salvation here in this time. I pray that we will always be grateful for the wonderful blessing of the priesthood and all that it brings to our lives.
In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
Love you all, pray for you all, all the time.
