Happy Halloween

Hey guys! Happy Halloween! I hope everyone has some fun plans for tonight, I know we do! Dodgeball and basketball! Ohh ya!! I wish I had some more time to talk but it is limited, we had some progress this week with Nancy the 81 year old we are teaching, she doesn't want to go to church at all but we got her to take a church tour, super awesome! Moving right along! The Stull family is still working for the 26th of November and Andre is still working towards the 12th, super excited to see all these individuals come closer to Jesus Christ, especially at this pace, the work is hastening!
We are picking up a family next week who is awesome! They have 6 daughters under the age of 12. The dad and mom are really nice and we can’t wait to start teaching them! The fish-mister (my companion) and I are doing really good and we love this area!
For my spiritual thought this week I thought I would share something that I learned from church yesterday that I thought was really profound. The sister who spoke talked about how it is the little things in our lives that make us the people that we are. She related our lives to a painting and this is what she said " What are some small and simple brush strokes that I can do to change my attitude and outlook on life." What I really like was that she related the small and seemingly insignificant choices we make in our lives are the brush strokes and eventually it makes up our painting. But what I thought about when she said that was a rock in my town that I use to pass by all the time. People would paint over it all the time, and if we were to chip it back we would see all the many colors of paint. But we can always continue to paint little brush strokes over what we have already painted. As we tweak small things in our lives, big changes can come from it. A general authority in the last general conference said that we need to be "ambitious for Christ." As we are ambitious for him those little changes will come and we will see that painting become something even greater than we thought it could ever be! I know these things to be true and I say this in the name of our Savior, even Jesus Christ Amen.
Love you all,
Elder Shouse
