Hey everyone, really sorry but I have to keep it pretty short this week. I'm doing really well, just got transferred to my new area and love it! The ward is great, and I get along with my new companions really well! (Elder Bartholomew and Elder Parkinson). Over the past four days we have picked up four new investigators and all said they would get baptized haha!!!! WHAT?! Dang, probably the best way to start off this transfer, I love it. We live in a place called Aberdeen its on the outskirts of Bel Air and is along the Susquehanna river! Pretty cool that we live in a town house, its really big and spacious haha, way to big for the three of us. The weird thing is though it only has one athroom. I was a little mad about that but I'll get over it! ;) Today we got to go play basketball in Baltimore super fun! Super ghetto haha
This Sunday was ward conference for the Susquehanna ward, and the theme of the conference was "my yoke is easy and my burden is light." I really enjoyed this topic because this is something I know I struggle with and others may also. The Savior gave everything to us - his blood, his sweat, his tears, all the energy of his heart, atoned for our sins, and eventually gave his life.
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.“Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.“For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28–30)
After he atoned for the sins of the world he turns right back to the individuals who need him most and said take upon my yoke and we will then be able to find rest. As we go through trials and burdens in this life, but have an eye single to our Father in Heaven, remember who is pulling right next to us, Christ. Sometimes I have thought of the scripture like this, one of my favorite paintings shows Jesus at a door knocking but clearly we can see there is no handle. We will always have the opportunity to take upon us the yoke of Christ, but sometimes we don't let him, hence his burden is light. He is there! Let him help us! He wants to pull along side us, through times of trial and hardship. I love my Savior and I am grateful that he is standing along side me everyday as I share this wonderful gospel with my brothers and sisters of Maryland. If your dealing with something that seems overwhelming, yoke yourselves to the Savior. allow him to lighten your load! I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
Love you all hope you have a great week!
