Hope everything is going well with you all. This past week was kind of a blur to be honest because we had so much going on.
On Tuesday we went to transfers and I met my trainee Elder Horton from Orem Utah, and he is actually my first companion from Utah. He is an awesome missionary and is settling in well. Since we are both new to the Muncie area it was crazy the first couple days. We were running around everywhere and trying to start from the ground up because there wasn't much happening in the area last transfer. The only investigator we inherited actually got baptized on Saturday though which was awesome, but it was pretty hectic because the baptism had not been planned yet, so we had to get all that done in a super short amount of time. It was so worth it though. His name is Jimmy and he has been working a long time to get the point of being baptized, and the smile on his face as he came out of the water was priceless. Pure joy.
We also live above an animal hospital! It's the biggest apartment in the mission and is known simply as "The Animal House", we even have our own gym! Pretty sweet. Our area is also a bike area so we have been trekking all over Muncie and it has been hot, there's that. We also both gave talks at church yesterday, and it was really cool because the youth speaker was a actually a youth from my last ward. The members are all awesome and super supportive and I can already tell it's going to be a great transfer.
Training so far has honestly been one of the best things I have ever done. Elder Horton was a little hesitant at first, but after diving in head first into the area he has truly come to see the joy in serving with all our hearts, might, mind, and strength. He is always anxious to learn and has a bunch of awesome questions. Just in the past few days we found several people that we were able to teach and one even came to church.
One cool experience we had was when we trying to get in contact with a potential investigator the last elders left us. We went to the house and no one answered but as we were walking away their car pulled up, and it turned out they no longer lived there, and the Lady who now lived there said she had absolutely no interest, so we just bore our testimonies and wished her a beautiful day. It wasn't till later in the evening that a member called us and asked if we had met someone named Ashley, and it turns out, that was who we talked to. She continued on about about how her friend Ashley (Who she works with) had felt blessed by us being at her house, and that she wanted us to come back. So now we're going back to teach her with the member. Pretty neat stuff.
It's been busy, hot, and exhausting, but it has been totally worth it. I have seen the Lord so much in my life this weeks it's crazy, He truly does always watch over us.
Well, gotta go, but I hope everyone is doing awesome and that ya'll have a super week.
