Centerville GA

Elder Nathan Roberts

Season 12!!! Episode 1 - The center, but not the middle!

don't even know how to start these anymore.

This week had some plot twists in it forsure, but it still turned out okay.

let me go on records saying:

1. I hate packing

2. I hate unpacking almost as much as packing

That was most of Sunday Monday and Tuesday, but then it got better. Tuesday we had our last district council with the boys, and celebrated with Buffalo wild wings. Also got a mile long CVS receipt and had it signed with hearts and a nice message from the cashier, cause we're Jesus folk. Only in the South, am I right?

Visited a lot of people Tuesday in preparation to leave, and even got to play ball one last time with the boys. Dropped the first 9 points in a game of 16 against one of the best guys there, and then got super unclutch and lost like 3 games in a row. Whaddya do?

Ladies and Gentlemen, post partum depression is real. I spent my last few hours with elder Mathews before we both got new comps on wednesday morning. We got BBQ sandwiches at 9am from the place down the street. Again, welcome to Alabama. But after making our way to Peachtree City, i found out that I am Second half training Elder Roberts, in Centerville, Georgia! I knew I was second half training, but I didn't know it'd be Centerville. I had suspicions of other locations, but those were not to be this time.

Taught a very humble man named Robert on Wednesday night, and he makes up about half of our current teaching pool. Cool guy.

We've done a lot of service so far. We've helped someone move, rake leaves, we were going to help serve a thanksgiving dinner at an assisted living center, split logs with a sweet machine, fix a garages ceiling, move a dead car and an old deep freezer, and help someone fix their car.

Sounds like a lot, but most of them were pretty small tasks that didn't take that long. Still a good time though. I also think there were some sissy boy elders here before us because some of the people we helped sorely underestimated us. I was almost offended honestly.

ALSO. We have no car. So I am riding my bike everywhere or getting a ride with someone else. So here comes slightly less fat Elder Smith!

Sunday was a good day. This ward is a good one. A lot of kids, but very friendly and warm. Nothing crazy happened Sunday, except I missed Fort benning and I got to ride in one of those sweet diesel volkswagons. Thing was wild.

Aside from all of that, life is good! The weather is cooling down and we are just chugging (now pedaling) around.

Transfers are an surprisingly spiritual experience. It takes alot of faith to pack up and leave the place you made your home, to go and do the same thing somewhere else. Its hard, but knowing that God is really in charge of where we go and when makes it all a little bit better. I know I need to be here, and I know this is when i need to be here. So now its my job to go and find out.

I hope y'all have a great week, and that you have a happy Thanksgiving! There is so much to be grateful for in this world, theres really no place to start. Be safe, be blessed, and please send me your Christmas cards! Thats one of my favorite parts about the Christmas season.
