Mission office update
Apreciadas familias de los Elderes y Hermanas en la Misión Perú Piura,
Nos complace informarles que todos se encuentran bien, y todos se esfuerzan en cumplir con las recomendaciones y los cuidados que el departamento misional y nosotros hemos realizado para que se mantenga protegidos y no asuman riesgos innecesarios en el hablar con las personas y miembros y que no vayan a ser afectados por el virus Coronavirus.
También, como muchos de ustedes ya saben, a partir de hoy el gobierno de Perú ha declarado un Estado de Emergencia Nacional con el propósito de reducir y disminuir los riesgos de contagios por el virus COVID-19 o Coronavirus, es así que el gobierno nacional estableció lo que llamó un “AISLAMIENTO SOCIAL OBLIGATORIO” por quince días y que consiste en restringir la libre circulación de las personas por las calles, hacer reuniones públicas, visitar centros comerciales, etc., lo que significa para nosotros que los misioneros (as) no pueden hacer contactos, visitar miembros, realizar reuniones, dar lecciones del evangelio presencialmente, realizar bautismos, consejos de distrito, consejos de zona, etc. En este tiempo, ellos estarán en sus respectivos cuartos y podrán salir, solo, si van a comprar alimentos, ir a la farmacia, visitar el médico, tenemos la esperanza de que puedan ir a una tienda de internet para que les puedan contactar.
Agradecemos su comprensión y sabemos que el Señor y Nuestro Padre Celestial nos ayudará en llevar con paciencia y humildad esta situación y se también que muchos de los misioneros (as) siguen comprometidos en edificar la obra del Señor con más energía y que ya lo hacen desde sus cuartos, por teléfono, buscando sus antiguos investigadores con el ánimo de compartirles el evangelio restaurado nuevamente.
Cualquier novedad que suceda a algún misionero en particular le estaremos informado.

Dear families of the Elders and Sisters in the Peru, Piura mission,
We are pleased to inform you that all of our missionaries are safe and are doing well. They are doing their best to comply with the recommendations and guidelines that the Missionary department has given us to keep them safe, including not taking unnecessary risks by talking with people and members so that they won’t be affected by Coronavirus.
Also, as many of you already know, today the government of Peru has declared a National State of Emergency with the purpose of reducing the risks of contracting the COVID-19 virus or Coronavirus. This means that the national government has established what is called an “OBLIGATORY SOCIAL ISOLATION” for 15 days and consists of reducing the free circulation of people in the streets, having public meetings, visiting shopping centers, etc. Due to this, the missionaries cannot contact, visit members, have meetings, teach lessons face to face, have baptisms, district counsels, zone counsels, etc. During this time, they will be in their rooms and can only leave if they are going to buy food, go to the pharmacy, or go to the doctor. We also hope that they will be able to go to an internet café on their preparation days and be able to contact you as well.
We are thankful for your understanding and we know that the Lord and our Heavenly Father will help us endure this situation with patience and humility. We know that many of the missionaries continue committed to building the work of the Lord and will do so with even more energy, even though they will do it from their rooms by teaching over the phone and looking for old investigators with the same enthusiasm to share with them the restored gospel.
If anything happens to a missionary in particular we will let you know.
