Hi Drew!!
Well of course I have to know about the storm! We watched about it on the news and I had to wait until it had passed over you before I went to bed.
I am sure you heard that there were tornadoes just outside of Tulsa. I assume that is in your mission. Did you have tornado warnings at all? How much rain did you get? Have they told you what you are supposed to do in case of a tornado? I hope so. Sister Wadsworth was worried about you too and asked if you were okay.
How is everything going? How is the work? Are you still having a lot of discussions? Are you adjusting to your new companion? Where was his last area? Phillip told me that his second companion was also from his MTC district. I bet it is nice to know your companion already.
Your package should get there today. It is also your Easter package so Happy Easter!! Easter this year is also on General Conference Sunday. Do you get to watch Conference? Would you go to a members home or do you know? I love Conference and Easter. It is always great when they are on the same day. Jeremy's birthday is the day after that. He wants a new phone for his birthday so I ordered it today. Hopefully it will get here by his birthday.
You seems to be enjoying your mission. I hope that is true. I know that missions can be the greatest experience of your life. I can tell that you are growing spiritually and I think you are so amazing. I was thinking about you today (well I do everyday) but I was watching the priests bless that sacrament and thinking about when you where the 1st assistant in the priest quorum. You showed such great leadership skills then.
Lucas was blessed yesterday at our house. It was really nice. There were a lot of people that came. Mostly from Carolyn's family but Patsy and Merna did come down. Dee was sick and couldn't make it. The weather was beautiful so we were able to eat and take pictures outside. I was so tired when it was over. I had spent a lot of time cleaning the house and cooking.
I finally finished reading the Book of Mormon. It took me awhile but I did it!! We were challenged in our "Teaching No Greater Call" Sunday School class to study the scriptures a little bit differently for the next two weeks. I decided that I would study topics instead of just reading scriptures straight through. I decided that I would maybe study about the last week of Christ's life because today is Palm Sunday. I read the Intercessory prayer today and thought I would share that with you. It is found in John 17. This is one of my very favorite passages of scripture. I think it makes it clear how Christ and Heavenly Father are one in purpose but not the same person.
I was really excited that the #BecauseHeLives video finally came out. I posted it along with your picture from your Zone Conference. I loved the video. I hope a lot of people will be able to watch it. I am so thankful for Jesus Christ and His Atonement. It helps me in so many ways. It helps me be better than I could otherwise be. We got quote from today's Sunday School lesson. I will share that with you too.
Elder James E. Faust said:
“Many nameless people with gifts equal only to five loaves and two small fishes magnify their callings and serve without attention or recognition, feeding literally thousands.… These are the hundreds of thousands of leaders and teachers in all of the auxiliaries and priesthood quorums, the home teachers, the Relief Society visiting teachers. These are the many humble bishops in the Church, some without formal training but greatly magnified, always learning, with a humble desire to serve the Lord and the people of their wards. …
“A major reason this church has grown from its humble beginnings to its current strength is the faithfulness and devotion of millions of humble and devoted people who have only five loaves and two small fishes to offer in the service of the Master. They have largely surrendered their own interests and in so doing have found ‘the peace of God, which passeth all understanding’ (Philippians 4:7)” (in Conference Report, Apr. 1994, 4–5; or Ensign, May 1994, 5
