Week 43: Irish Bull Steaks and Lots of Appointments
What's up everyone,
Hey! This week has been great so far! It has been full of member appointments which isn't very common so we're using the opportunities to strengthen the friendships between the members and the missionaries.
On Friday we had an appointment with an Eritrean family who is way cool. We gave them a Book of Mormon in Amharic (Ethiopian). The wife said that she is in a Bible group and she will start having the group read in the Book of Mormon! We also went with a member to the German version of Home Depot and got some supplies for our bathroom because it needed a bit of work.
On Saturday we helped a returning member move. He is really nice and some of his family came and helped also so it was really fun to get to know them better. We also ate pizza and later that night we went to Bruder Kramer's house and had steak. It was really good and the steak came from a bull in Ireland and it tasted amazing!
On Sunday we had church. After church we went home and then a couple minutes later the doorbell rang so we answered it and it was Schwester Grüse. She spontaneously asked us if we wanted to have lunch with her and her family and we of course accepted her offer. Their family is way cool so it was fun getting to know them!
On Monday we were supposed to have a split with the zone leaders but Elder Johnson was sick so we postponed it. Instead we went to the Familie Kroek's house and did some yard work service and also had lunch with them. It was a really fun service project but Elder Haywood and I are now sore haha!
On Tuesday we had District Council and it was the last one of the transfer. We talked mostly about temples and it was a really great council. The Novaks had some really good snacks as well. We then went to the Familie Wolfgang and Ellen Hiemer and had lunch with them. We had really good wraps which are like German burritos.
On Wednesday we did some more work on our bathroom and then we went to the Familie Wächtler for lunch. We at some great food and got to know that family a lot better. The dad really knows his World War 2 history so it was really interesting to hear the history from a German's point of view. Then later that day we were supposed to have an appointment with Patrick but he had to cancel so we are going to meet with him on Friday. And later that day we also had ward correlation meeting with Philip, the 2nd Counselor in the Elders Quorom Presidency, who is responsible for the missionary work.
Today we are having a chill pday and tonight we have family home evening at the Familie Gust. We are going to have dinner then give a spiritual lesson.
That's it! Have an awesome week! The Gospel is true!
