New Week

Good morning everyone! Everything is good out here in New York. Not a ton of crazy stuff happening, but as always filled with miracles! Our mission is improving so much and it's so cool to see the growth since I've arrived! My first month here as a mission we baptized 68 and last month we brought 148 souls back to Christ!! Seeing the growth and change this gospel brings to not only our lives but others too is truly miraculous! I had my interview with my mission president yesterday and it was great as always, love that guy. But in it he asked me a question that made me ponder. He said "Elder Williams, when you look back at yourself 8 months ago and then now, are you happy with the change?" And it got me thinking of how much I truly have changed since being out on the mission. I've seen old desires or habits change and I've seen myself align myself with God's will, truly asking what he would have me do rather than just doing as I feel.

We have 4 friends preparing for baptism on th 17th! Raine, Olive, Dorothy, and Matthew! Please keep them in your prayers!

Spiritual Thought today comes from a talk i read, can't remember what it was called but I copied the quote, "If you are poor, work. If you are rich, work. If you are burdened with seemingly unfair responsibilities, work.
“If you are happy, continue to work; idleness gives room for doubts and fears. If sorrow overwhelms you, and loved ones seem not true, work. If disappointments come, work.
“If faith falters and reason fails, just work. When dreams are shattered and hopes seem dead—work. Work as if your life were in peril; it really is.
“No matter what ails you, work. Work faithfully, and work with faith. Work is the greatest material remedy available. Work will cure both mental and physical afflictions.”
This stuck out to me a lot because it emphasized just about everything we as humans go through and gave us the remedy for it! We should always be coming closer to Jesus Christ and improving to become better disciples. But that requires WORK. Working truly is the greatest material remedy because as you so it you not only come closer to our Savior as we work and serve others, we find satisfaction in our work which brings joy! I testify today of the power of hard work. One thing my father was always good at was getting us to do work and to do it efficiently. That truth has been magnified as I've been out on my mission and I've seen the power of dedicated and consecrated work! I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know he died for all our sins and that he set the perfect example. He was ALWAYS going about his father's work. I say this in his Sacred name, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Love you guys!
