What's up you guys! Another week and another transfer down! I am amazed at the change I've seen in myself these past 6 months in the Bronx. It's truly Remarkable to see light and joy the Gospel brings not only into the lives of others, but into our lives as well! This week was awesome! Edwin got baptized and his family is next week! But we got transfer news on Saturday and I'm leaving:( to arguably one of the most difficult areas in the mission. I'll tell you where later. But these past few months have truly humbled me for sure, I've learned to rely so much on the Lord and his strength and I've seen so many miracles because of it.
I wanna share a story of an experience I had yesterday. We were out finding at night, probably 8:40 and there were people out having barbecues for the 4th (people in the Bronx party hard) but there was a man who walked by and he caught my attention for some reason, something told me to talk with him, but I was talking with someone else so I left it. I finish my conversation and we keep walking down the block and we see the guy walking back towards us, so we invite him to church. He says nah I'm good, I'm Hebrew. So we talk a little more about church and how it can bless us and he starts to open up to us. We talked for probably 35 minutes and was talking about how he really wants to change. He had been in and out of prison and gangs his whole life and hated it. He hasn't hasn't his son in 8 years and he just wants him back. He broke down crying and kept talking. We shared the Book of Mormon and I shared a few scriptures I thought would help. We kept talking and he said the scriptures i shared were the most powerful things he's ever heard and that he'd remember me forever for that. He committed to baptism and to do anything it takes to get there and said we were meant to run into him that night, he told us he wanted to come up and talk with us but was afraid.
I want to leave you with my testimony that I know the Book of Mormon is true. I know that this church is God's one and only true church on the earth. And I know with all my heart that Jesus Christ lives. I promise you that you are NEVER too far gone. Jesus Christ's infinite sacrifice is for everything you have ever or will ever do. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen
