What's going on everyone!! Hope your week was awesome! This week was a good week, I forgot to write in my journal pretty much all week and my memory is terrible so this email will be shorter haha. I just want to highlight the power and importance of the Book of Mormon. It is such a powerful tool and such a blessing. The words on its pages bring so much hope, peace, joy, comfort, happiness and many more things to the lives of ALL those who read it! I want to share an experience that our mission President shared with us this past week. He was in a training with Elder Cook and some other people from the NYC leadership. One of the guys shared an experience he had. He was going with the stake president to visit less active families and to help them. He was in a R and didn't get to look up who they were going to meet so he hopped in the car with the stake president and asked "president, who are we going to see?" The president replied "we're going to see a young man who is a returned missionary and had young kids who has requested to have his name removed from the church. His bishop has spent hours talking with him. I have spent hours talking to him but he won't budge on his decision. You are his last hope." So he went in the house and the young man had his non member parents with him. He said the whole time he was getting nowhere and it wasn't going very well. He said he had the promoting to have the young man walk him to his car, so after they finished meeting, he asked the man to walk him to his car. When they got there he asked the young man "what did you think of your mission?" The young man replied "I loved my mission, I just wish I hadn't been preaching people false doctrine." He then asked the young man "what did you tell the people to do?" The young man replied "to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it." He said to the young man, "before you do anything and follow through with your decision, read the Book of Mormon and pray about it." He then got in his car and drove him. He didn't hear anything for 4 years. Then he walked into a priesthood leadership meeting and across the room walking toward him was the young man he talked to all those years ago. The man walked up to him, shook his hand and said, "Elder Bennett, I'm okay. I didn't follow through with my decision. I read and prayed and got my answer, thank you."
This experience is so amazing to me. The power of the Book of Mormon is REAL! I have felt felt power work in my own life and have seen it work in the lives of others. If any of you are unsure of the Book of Mormon. I simply invite you to read and pray about it. I know that as you do that you WILL receive your answer. I love you all and miss you so much! Please email me, I love hearing you guys!
