The Greatest week of my life.
Everyone! I survived week one of the MTC! It has been one of the greatest experiences of my life so far. I have had so many experiences that have changed my life. I want you all to know that God loves you. He is our heavenly father and he wants nothing more than our happiness. No matter what you have done, or how far gone you think you are, things can always ALWAYS be fixed through the atonement of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
My companion is Elder Shurtliff, he is from Gunlock Utah. (Which is basically St.George). We have had the opportunity to teach a few investigators already! The first guy we taught is Huck, a 23 year old kid who is just looking for some guidance and direction, and so far he has loved reading the Book of Mormon, and loves the answers to his prayers he receives while reading the word of God. I couldn't be more excited for him as he continues to learn about his Savior and what he can do in his life. Tanner, the other guy, is from Portland, and he is super interested in Mormons. He knows his Bible pretty well, and after our second lesson he loved the plan of salvation and said, "I can't wait to learn more about this in the Book of Mormon!" I WAAAASSSS SOOOOO HYYYYYPPPPPEEEEDDDDD. Nothing makes me happier than people wanting to change, and come to know their Savior.
Sunday we got to listen to a talk from Elder David A. Bednar, and he talked about the Character of Christ. In all of Christs most struggling times, the Savior ALWAYS turned out. After suffering in the garden of Gethsemane, bleeding and suffering for the sins of his people, the FIRST thing he did was heal the ear of a man who was coming to turn him in. May we strive to be like our Master, and always turn outward instead of turning in.
I have a challenge for you. I want you all to turn out. Always seeking to help others when we are in need. As you do so, I promise your life will work out so so much better. Always remember what our Savior would do.
