Elder De Baun

Week 34: What a week!

What a week am I right everyone?πŸ˜‚ I was actually surprised that this week passed me by as fast as it did. At the beginning of the week we ate dinner with President Chandler in Kielce with the Southards which was a great experience! Tuesday, Sister Jezarowska invited us over to pick up some cake she made for us and to get the sacrament! It was great! She is the best!

Besides that we have been inside mostly, studying and trying to find through Facebook! Our mission is the best, every night we have devotionals and I actually was able to host a devotional this week! It went great, and it was a lot of fun to teach the whole mission! We also do competitions each day (pride not prize) and our competition we held was to see who could submit the funniest or craziest journal entry from their mission! Elder Nielson won and Elder Mitchell came in second! Haha not because they were both my companions but they just had hilarious stories!πŸ˜‚

The crazy thing is that Poland is one of the only 50 fully operational missions right now. I think the Lord prepared the mission well for these trying times. I am grateful for the Lord and for his help, and for awesome missionaries not only here but worldwide. I've seen many of my friends go home and be released or reassigned. Each and every one of them is awesome and I know that whatever is happening in in their lives right now is a part of Heavenly Fathers plan. This week I started writing my own simple history in Family Search. I was reading an old Ensign and it said that when you do that, you will be amazed at what kinds of things you remember from your life! It was true! As I did a simple history, I remembered so many things from my childhood and high school! It was the coolest experience!

The sun has been shining and it feels awesome but last night it snowed. That was kinda funny! I'm so glad the Lord is blessing us with sunlight.

I finally was able to post the dance video! The goal is solely to help people understand that God has not forgotten any one of us and he has a plan and provided the means by which we can have hope. That's through His Son, Jesus Christ. I've seen comments on it and it makes me so happy to know that it is helping so many people feel more joy and hope. That is the greatest blessing. I'm so thankful for awesome missionaries, my incredible family, my amazing girlfriend, legendary friends, and members who helped this happen! We couldn't have done it without you and your faith! It is reaching and softening hearts! You are all the best! Thank you for helping the work of the Lord move forward wherever you live.

I am happy and filled with hope this week. There has been so much stress and uneasiness as well, but faith has replaced those feelings. Unless things get significantly worse here, we are all staying in Poland.

We had a mini transfer and closed Gdansk to elders and Krakow to sisters. We also won’t be getting new missionaries for a while. And yes... I am STILL in Kielce.πŸ˜‚ I think by the time I leave I’ll have been here for half my mission. No complaints, I have enjoyed it and have discovered more about myself here than I have anywhere else. I feel like a completely different person after living here for so long. I'm officially past my eight months! I just do what I've done 2 more times and that's it for me, craziness!

I love you all and I'm praying for you. Truly I am praying for you! At times it can be really scary, seeing so much happen in the world, being away from my family and friends, but I know that Heavenly Father promises to protect and BLESS those you leave behind as you embark in His service. I am doing well, I am just excited for this all to pass! But in the mean time, enjoy the uniqueness of being at home all day with those you love! πŸ˜„ Be safe!!!
