Elder De Baun

Week 28: Time is moving faster and faster!

Today I realized that in 2 weeks from today, its been 7 months since I left home. I still canโ€™t wrap my head around that! How has it already been that long?! Haha I have no clue! I am making the most of it! This week the Lord brought forth some mighty miracles in humble, little Kielce.๐Ÿ˜Š I met several new people through Facebook in meetings this week. I think we had 5! That is big news! One of the girls we are teaching read the entire Ksiฤ™ga Mormona in 5 days. Like... Miracles. She was so excited when she told me about it on Friday! I asked her if she prayed about it to know of it is truly the word of God and her response was 'oczywiล›cie!' I'll let you look that one up.๐Ÿ˜‰ She received a personal witness from the Holy Ghost that the Book of Mormon is true. That is the thing I'm trying so hard to help people understand is that if they want to know it's true, they canโ€™t ask me all the facts and try to find faults with it. They have got to just show some faith and read the Book themselves and follow the counsel in Moroni 10:3-5. Learn the truth through the power of the Holy Ghost. After she received her answer I asked if she wanted to become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She said yes.๐Ÿ˜Š Its my prayer that I can say and do the right things to help her continue on the path she is on which truly is the path of greatest happiness. This week I had to speak ALOT of Polish!๐Ÿ˜† It was awesome! I felt the Spirit guide my thoughts and my words.. but most of all, the Spirit changed my confidence and has made me stronger. This mission is beautiful for many reasons but for me one of the greatest is being able to see myself grow physically, mentally, and spiritually as I serve others... Service has been my greatest teacher and gratitude the biggest lesson. Self reliance and personal growth has been the outcome. This week a man walked into English asking for the Mormons. I greeted him and he said he really wanted to learn about our church and what we believe in. Amazing!! This week I was able to testify and teach this man and others in the English class about the First Vision, The Book of Mormon and the Restoration of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He accepted a Book of Mormon and wants to meet again. I have tried harder at serving others on the streets, even if it is simply by smiling and saying hello. It really makes a difference in the attitude of the people. I truly love these people.

Church was a great experience this week. It all started with an amazing sacrament meeting. As you know we don't have many members and this week we had 2 and some kids. I knew that the sacrament would be really fast, so out of respect for the people there and for the Lord, I waited for just a few minutes with the tray in silence and let everyone take a minute to ponder and invite the Spirit into their hearts. It made me rather emotional... but then again I am a naturally emotional guy.๐Ÿ˜„ After that I put on a headset and translated Elder Southards talk into Polish. I was able to do it with fluency and I was so grateful for that experience! After that I taught a lesson about the Atonement from CFM and I was able to teach and conversate and feel the spirit strongly. I really needed that after last week. I was struggling with questions, but I made it through and turned to the Lord! Its okay to have questions, everyone has them! The trick is knowing where to turn. I prefer the Lord and committing to studying it out! After I did that and offered more sincere prayers, I recieved the answers I needed. We accomplished what we needed for Starszy De Bauns legal work! Miracle! I was stressed about that but the Lord never left our side. Funny story, we had to use coins to buy a bus ticket but we only had 10 cent coins and it cost 3 dollars! It took a long time and the coins kept getting rejected and popping out! Eventually it timed out and all the coins spit back out.๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ That happened twice! I was dying because people were sooo confused. Those are the experiences you just laugh through! Anyways alot has been happening and I wish I had time to explain it all! I hope you are happy and doing well! I am so grateful for your prayers. Love you.

P.S. I ended up with another mystery surprise haircut...๐Ÿ˜‚ I hope its okay! If anyone asks, it wasn't my fault!
