Que está pasando amigos!
I hope that everyone is having a great week in the States and that everyone will do well on their exams and such that are coming up soon. I want to give a special shoutout to Taylor and Alex for their wedding and I am sorry that I will be missing the cake throwing party at the reception. I apologize in advance. Now let's reflect on the week.
Well, I had my first area attack today, which is when our whole zone of missionaries goes to one area in the zone and we just contact a bunch of people for a couple of hours. It was fun, and it had some interesting times. My companion is really good about pushing me to the limits. He wanted me to contact this one door by myself, and he would knock on a different door. I knocked on this one door that was already kind of open, but I talked to the people and they were not very interested with the message and kind of wanted me to go away. After I started to leave I looked up on the building and at the top of it, I saw a big sign that said that the building was an Evangelist church! Definitely a funny and awkward moment for me, and in my defense I did not see the sign before I went and knocked on the door. Oh well, learn from your mistakes or mishaps and move forward.
Lately we have been trying to find more people because we have not had a lot of success with some of our investigators. We have found a couple new people through contacting and through references from church members. We also visited a family in which some of the family are members of the church, but not all of them. The father, Marco, is not a member and he really likes the church. The sad part is that he doesn't want to get married and baptized now because he is trying to get residence in the States, and I guess it is harder if you are married. I am going to tell you the same thing I told this family: "I know that it is hard to pass up on worldly desires that may improve your life. But I want you to think about the eternal perspective of this life and think about God´s will instead of your own." Sometimes we all just think about the next worldly thing we want, but we should be thinking about what God wants us to do because He wants what is best for us and can help us overcome any trial or challenge. I then told them that if they truly think about the eternal perspective of this life, then they will find true happiness. I invited them to pray to God and ask what they should do because I know that God´s will is what will help them in the eternal scheme of things. If we drop our worldly desires now and focus on God´s will for us, then we can do anything in this life through God's help and we can live with Him again.
Thanks for the support and remember that we have a Heavenly Father that wants to help us...we just have to ask first and exercise faith in Christ.
