Olá amigos e família!!!This week was fantastic! First off, we just recieved news that we will be in a TRIO again!! We are picking up the new Elder today and we are both super excited! The TRIO life is way fun, so we are really looking forward to that!
We went golfing last week with these two 20-year-olds who aren't members of the Church and we had a blast! I haven't gone golfing in a long time so it was nice to get out on the course, especially as a missionary! The dudes asked us a lot about what it's like to be a missionary and I loved being able to share my testimony of my desire to dedicate 2 years of my life to the Lord's work. We were also able to have a pretty cool conversation with them about the Gospel!
This past week we had some pretty crazy things happen. The first cool experience we had happened when Elder Hickman and I were driving to lunch. We were wanting to go to Arby's or Chickfila, but then we missed the turn for both of them. We had a couple other places in mind to go eat, but we then continued to miss 2 or 3 more turns. At this point, you might be thinking that this is a story about how bad I am at giving directions haha but it's not! We finally ended up at Firehouse Subs and got in line. We were waiting in line when all of the sudden a man in surgeon scrubs came up to us and offered to pay for our lunch! For those of you who don't know, this never happens to missionaries in Alabama! We were so surprised by how bold and friendly this man was and so we started up a conversation with him. This was when I found out that all those turns we had missed in the car were no coincidence. The man who bought us lunch was the father of a part-member family that we have been trying to get in contact with for the past 2 months! We found out that he isn't even a member, but would love to have us over and listen to a spiritual message!! I know that the Lord knew exactly what He was doing as we missed those 3 turns, decided to go to Firehouse Subs, and got in line right next to someone the Lord needed us to contact. Miracles like these are what makes me love being a missionary!
The Church is true! I invite y'all to pay special attention to the miracles you have every single day. I promise you will develop such a love for God and his plan for you!
I love y'all so much! Have a blessed week!
Love, Elder Moffat
