This past week was pretty eventful! To start the week off, I realized that I had only brought church shoes and an old pair of running shoes that were about to bite the dust, so I spoiled myself and bought some $7 shoes at Wal-Mart! I'm pretty stoked about them tho because they look EXACTLY like Vans but for only $7.00! What a steal!!!
This past week I had two pretty cool experiences that I wanted to share.
The first one was when we were able to do some service for this guy named Karl. He's a super cool guy that is dating a member of the Church and has expressed some interest in learning about what we believe. We helped him clean out his garage and then he asked us to share a spiritual message with him! We happily agreed and shared with him why each of us decided to go on a mission. He thought it was really cool how we all decided to sacrifice time away from our family and friends to share the wonderful message of the Gospel with others. I was stoked that he was able to feel of the Spirit that we taught with and recognize how much the Church means to us. Kind of a simple experience, but I thought it was really cool! I'm excited to continue developing our friendship with him as we teach him more about the Gospel!
We also went on exchanges this week and I went with Elder Beecher and Elder Stocking. This week we were told that we are now allowed to visit the homes of recent referrals if we weren't able to contact them by phone! This is great news because we can now see more people in person! The area we were in is right at the heart of Birmingham so there were lots of poor, ghetto neighborhoods. We went to this one apartment complex and couldn't find the address we were looking for so we decided to ask a lady sitting on a park bench if she could help us. We started up a conversation with her and eventually she told us that she would be interested in hearing our message! I know that it wasn't just a coincidence that we couldn't find that apartment and we had to ask her for help. I know that it was God's hand in my life and I'm so thankful for His influence.
I invite all of you to find one way that you see God's hand in your life and write it down everyday. I have done this and I can promise you guys that you will be so much more happier because of it!
I love you guys! Have a blessed week!!
Love, Elder Moffat
