Olá amigos e família!!!I am officially outta here tomorrow morning! My flight leaves at 8:00am tomorrow and I am SOOO excited!! I haven't finished packing yet, so I've got to grind that out after typing this email haha. I will be flying with a group of other missionaries to Dallas and then to Alabama from there. I'm going to stay the night at the mission home on Tuesday and then head out to whatever area I'm assigned to after that. I can't wait to embrace the people of whatever area I'm assigned to and go to work! Even if it's the Family History Center!!! Regardless of where I'm sent, I look forward to putting what I've learned in the Online MTC to use in the mission field!
This past week, I created a schedule for myself full of service projects and practice lessons to different families in my ward. Most of the service I did included weeding, pruning, mowing lawns, and raking leaves. It was great! I love yardwork and so it was super fun for me to work outside and help those in need! My Dad was my companion for these service opportunities and I'm so grateful for his company and willingness to step up to the occasion. He has always been so supportive of me and is one of the most selfless people I know. Overall, it was a win-win situation for me as I was able to spend time with my Dad and serve my ward members!
I was also able to teach practice lessons to several families in my ward this past week. I set up lessons with 3 different families in my ward every evening over Zoom, so I was pretty busy! It was so helpful to practice teaching the missionary discussions to these families and I feel a lot more comfortable now! It was also so fun to see these families in my ward and catch up with them! I'm so thankful for the willingness of the families in my ward to help me out as I prepare for the mission field. I loved being able to teach with the Spirit and touch those families, and I can't wait to do this with the people of Alabama!
I'm so thankful for each and every one of you. Your support and influence in my life have made me who I am today. I love you all and the next time you'll hear from me, I'll be in Alabama!Love, Elder Moffat
