This week was super great! We had the baptism of Erick on Saturday and everything went almost perfect. Elder Chappell was the one doing the ordinance and he had to baptized Erick three times because the first time he forgot to say amen XD and the second time Erick's wrist didn't go into the water. Third times a charm but poor kid. Other than that we had a really awesome baptismal service with a really great member turnout.
We also had an activity planned for Saturday afternoon and at first it was a complete flop. Only like 4 members of the church came even though we were trying to focus on getting new people and investigators to come. Thankfully, about 7 new people came after the spiritual part of the activity. XD But I was really thankful that the activity wasn't a complete failure.
Erick was confirmed on Sunday! Sadly, his brother didn't end up coming but we did end up talking to him later that night and he says he will prepare himself for baptism. I got to talk with a deaf guy about my family and his family. It was really hard because I know very little sign and the little bit that I do know is English sign language. He says he'll give me a book to study and I was just super happy to hear that. LOL hear...
I feel like I'm starting to Really feel the love for the people. By lending service and just talking and listening to them a little more intently is helping me to realize that they're people like me and a whole lot of them are cooler than me. I really feel a desire to invite them to baptism so that they can feel the joy and love that I feel for them and the love that I feel that Heavenly Father has for them. In Priesthood on Sunday we learned a little about charity and I remembered a part from the last General Conference. In the talk by Elder Robert D. Hales he cited a scripture in 1 Corinthians 13: 1-2 it says though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am NOTHING. (Emphasis added) Basically if you don't have charity it doesn't matter what you did on this earth because it will all result to nothing. Remember to excercise your charity every day so you can be spiritually rich and physically blessed. General Conference is this week and I'm super excited! Get ready to hear some modern revelation from men called of God. I know that every person we will hear from is inspired of God and that every word that they speak is scripture and they speak as if He himself spoke it. Invite your friends and get excited! Love you all a ton and have a great General Conference week!
Sorry no photos this week. I have an extreme fear of getting a virus and having my memory wiped.
