Week 94 - The Manchester Ballers

Hey Everybody!

I hope that you all have had a fantastic week! It has been a hectic one in the Lord's service, but everything always has a way of working itself out! There was some beautiful sunny days this week and one day this week we were walking to go and see one of our friends and it was sunny as could be and then it started downpouring for like 10 min with tons of water coming down, and then it cleared up and we went on with the rest of the spectacular day!

That same day, actually Saturday, there was a 3 on 3 basketball tournament happening in one of the downtown parks in Manchester. We knew lots of people going to it and we had some people that wanted to play with us so, if anybody knows me, we hopped right on it!! We had one of our barber friends planning to be on our team, but he couldn't last minute so we picked up another guy to come play. We actually decided we were doing to play in our shirts, ties, and slacks, and we got some interesting looks but it was a blast! There was some wicked good talent there including a guy from Manchester who is playing in the NBA; he wasn’t playing but he was there to watch his brother. But this tournament was beyond just a chance to have some fun and get out there. We had each received a pair of Jordan sneakers (they weren't anything special) given to us from one of the members here that is obsessed with Michael Jordan, plus we didn't really have much else to wear so we wore those to play. After the tournament we gave them away to a couple of people there. So we ended up not winning the tournament and walking back to our truck in our socks. But there was a lot of winning in the people we were able to talk to and the people that we hopefully touched. In fact, one of the guys we met there we invited him to church and he actually came to church yesterday!!! I will see if I have any pictures or videos of it!

Well the rest of transfers went off with a bunch of craziness, but I wouldn't want to bore your with all the details! We will be expecting a new Mission President here on Friday. I LOVE the Blairs so much. They have done so much for me individually and for this mission. I strive to have the love, dedication, energy, and joy that they have found serving the Lord. It has been an honor to serve closely to them.

I love you all and I hope you have a great week!!
