I hope that you have all had a fantastic week! Up here in Maine we were able to escape another Nor'Easter so that was good! We were supposed to have a storm this past like Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, but we got lucky and it floated a little further out to sea! It is pretty warm today, like 36 degrees! But we keep hearing stories about how they have received snow in like July up here, so I'm not holding my breath!
So now for the title of my email. On Saturday morning we needed to go to main street and go to this old shop because we needed something for the district. Well when we went in, there were more people on main Street than I have ever seen, but I just thought it was because I was a warm Saturday morning. After getting what we needed done in the shop, we walked out and there was this huge stream of people walking down main street. There were thousands of people stretching down the street and they were protesting about something. This was a crazy experience for me, but it was probably just because I had never had seen something like that, being from Blanding! We had to get back to our apartment without being part of the protest, so that was fun!
One awesome experience that we had teaching this week with one of our investigators was on Wednesday. He has been slowly progressing since New Years, but not made too much progress. We went over planning on talking about the Plan of Salvation, but we felt like we should talk about receiving spiritual revelation. He said that he has been really wondering how he can make decisions in his life, like where he should live and what job to take. We showed him a video by Elder Bednar, and the spirit was really strong and he was crying during it. We were able to testify of the help he can recieve if he asks. He is going to be away for the greater part of the next three months, but we committed him to read the entire Book of Mormon and he said that he would do it! I can't wait to see him when he gets back!
I am so excited for Easter and General Conference this next weekend! I hope all of you will be able to take a question into conference, and I know that you will recieve an answer! An easy way to do that is to write down on a piece of paperthese three things. 1. What you want to know (Question). 2. Pray about the question and write down what you feel from that, and then 3. Listen to conference and write down the answer that I know you can recieve! I love you all and I hope you have a great week! Happy Easter!
Love,
Elder Brown
